MALTA STEVENS
REGISTERED SERVICE DOG
My name is Malta Stevens. I am a Registered Service dog. I came to this world on December 24, 2007.
I was adopted at Staryorkie.com by my mommy (Edie Stevens) and poppy on March, 2008.
Mommy has a medical condition called Conversion Disorder triggered by PTSD. When she has an episode she goes catatonic followed by amnesia. She was told by her doctor that she would benefit from a Registered Service dog.

Mommy did quite a bit of research of dog breeds before she decided that she wanted me. She said she decided on me because I would be intelligent as well as loving and that is important for her psychological condition.

Mommy adopted me February 12, 2008 and my special training began. I had extensive socialization and training so I could go every place that my mommy would go. Since I go every place Mommy goes I have had some very exciting adventures. I have been to the White House and rolled on the South Lawn, been to dinner at Morton’s Restaurant in D.C., dinner at Po Pazzo Restaurant in San Diego, dinner at Gooney Bird Bar & Grill in Chico. These are just a few of the upscale restaurants I have had the opportunity to visit. Mommy has written the first book of a series of books about my adventures. It is going through the publishing process. We will keep you posted on the progress.
I visit a skilled nursing facility once a week. I go out and educate children and adults about the difference between Registered Service dogs and Therapy dogs. I love all of my contacts with people.

I am a Registered Service Dog and I work very hard.
I love people especially little children.
